Langate 04 March (KNO) : AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has said that Supreme Court's remarks on Article 370 do not mean much to people of J&K as the huge sacrifices offered by Kashmiris from time to time since 1947 are only for right to self-determination.

In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said that remarks on article 370 or protecting article 35-A is New Delhi's compulsion to defend its weak and unrealistic stand on Jammu & Kashmir at international forums. He said "People of Jammu & Kashmir will have no objection to the merger of state with Indian union if they chose the same through a plebiscite by implementing UN resolutions.

If once the issue is resolved forever and people choose to be part of India, Article 370 and Article 35-A will get automatically abrogated and in that case Kashmir will to be India's integral part like any other Indian state.

In a place where one lac. People have lost their lives and security forces have been given authority to kill Kashmiris, the debate over Article 370 being temporary or permanent becomes irrelevant. Neither Indian parliament nor J&K Assembly can ever supersede UN resolutions and any attempt to dilute the nature of the dispute will mean violation of UN charter”.

Er. Rasheed reiterated that the debate over Article 370 and 35-A is nothing but an attempt to force Kashmiris to defensive, so that they do not talk much about the real dispute. Er. Rasheed added that FIR against Gulzar Ahmad a cop of J&K Police for his involvement in the killing of Gowhar Ahmad is ample proof to understand that men in uniform have been given liberty to do what they want and the FIR against JKP cop justifies the FIR against Major Adatiya, who killed half a dozen innocents in Shopian.

Er. Rasheed said however Government’s FIR against local cop speaks about helplessness of state Govt. while dealing with army or other security forces, who have committed murders in broad day light.(KNO)
